Hi there, it’s Karolina from ASAP Speak&Play

Have you ever been in a situation in English when you wanted to finish the conversation but didn’t know how to do it politely? Well, if yes, then you are in the right place. Today we are going to learn 12 ways to diplomatically end a conversation and leave. These phrases are perfect for small talk, a serious conversation or a phone call. You can use them with a colleague at work or a business partner you’re close with.

They may not always be appropriate for a formal situation. Nie wszystkie jednak wyrażenia nadają się do formalnej sytuacji.

There are many ways we can say: „I have to go.” My suggestion is to choose two and practise them until you remember them perfectly. Don’t forget about the free Quizlet flashcards I prepare for you every week so that you can master these phrases in no time. Link is in the description.

We will look at 4 groups of expressions:

  1. I have to go.
  2. I’d better go.
  3. I’d love to chat but I got to go.
  4. Final goodbye
