In today’s episode we are talking about the future. Your plans and intentions – twoich planach i intencjach, your hopes and expectations – nadziejach i oczekiwaniach – and finally we will practise a question: jak długo to zajmie?

1. Plans and intentions – plany i intencje
To talk about plans we can say: „We’re going to” – „zamierzamy”. Sometimes, in American English, you may hear people saying „We’re gonna” „I’m gonna”.
For example:
We’re going to launch a new product.
We’re gonna launch a new product.
Zamierzamy wypuścić na rynek nowy produkt.
We’re going to go by train.
We’re gonna go by train.

2. Hopes and expectations – nadzieje i oczekiwania
To speak about hopes and expectations we can use the following 4 verbs:
Expect – oczekiwać – We expect to meet him tomorrow.
Hope – mieć nadzieję – We hope to meet him tomorrow
Plan – planować – I plan to meet him tomorrow
Intend – zamierzać – I intend to meet him tomorrow
Zwróć uwagę, że wszystkie czasowniki idą z „to”, a po nim wstawiamy kolejny czasownik. W szybkiej mowie „to” zamienia się w „ty” na przykład:
We expect to come back this evening.
We hope to return on Monday
I plan to leave tomorrow
I intend to arrive at 5
