In today’s episode we’re going to practise 7 future time expressions we use to talk about what’s coming next.
So, what are time expressions?
These phrases answer the question „when”.
For sure you already know some future time expressions like: tomorrow, next week, later, soon, on Monday.
So today we will expand your vocabulary – rozszerzymy twoje słownictwo – expand your vocabulary with additional 7 phrases.
And these are:
- Over the next few weeks
- By the end of the day
- By Tuesday
- In 2 days
- In the short term / in the long term
- In the long run
So let’s get it started.
1.Over the next few… – W ciągu następnych kilku…
For example:
Over the next few minutes – w ciągu następnych kilku minut
Over the next few days – W ciągu kilku następnych dni
Over the next few weeks – w ciągu najbliższych kilku tygodni
Listen and repeat

4. In the long term / in the long run – Na dłuższą metę
’Na dłuższą metę’ we can say in two ways – „In the long term” – w dłuższym okresie – or „In the long run” – w dłuższym biegu
For example:
What are you planning to do in the long term? – Co zamierzasz robić na dłuższą metę.
In the long run, this is not a good idea. – Na dłuższą metę to nie jest dobry pomysł.
Additionally, we can use „long-term” or „short-term” as adjectives.
For example:
Do you make long-term plans? – Czy masz długoterminowe plany?
What is your short-term goal? – Jaki jest twój krótkoterminowy cel?
Listen and repeat.

In the long-term, I believe it would be best for you.
