If you work in a big company or a corporation, you sometimes go on trips with your colleagues, right? You get to know each other better, have some fun and socialize. 

Socialize means you spend time with people in a friendly way e.g. playing games, drinking, eating and dancing.

In Polish we say wyjazd integracyjny, but in English, we don’t say ” integration trip”. That sounds strange. 

There are three ways we can say wyjazd integracyjny in English:

• A company trip 
• A team-building trip

Or

• A company retreat – or a corporate retreat , this word is used when the trip includes workshops or training sessions, often in a quiet place. 

You can also hear the word „retreat”  in a different context, for example, a yoga retreat, or a meditation retreat.

So, remember, „Integration trip” is a false friend. We don’t say it in English. 

Integration is a process in IT, not a team building trip.

So let’s practise using the word „retreat” in a context.
