We use another when we speak about one thing. E.g. another person, another dog, another office.
Zauważ, że another zaczyna się od an- czyli rodzajnika liczby pojedynczej. np. an apple. Więc łatwo to skojarzyć, że another idzie z jedną rzeczą, bo an – another. Więc łatwo skojarzyć że another idzie z jedną rzecz abo an, another.
