Are you confident when speaking English? Czy jesteś pewny siebie, gdy mówisz po angielsku?

Many language learners struggle with confidence, especially when communicating in English in a business context. But don’t worry, you’re not alone. In this episode I’m gonna equip you in 5 phrases you can use to show your confidence.

W tym odcinku zaopatrzę cię w 5 wyrażeń, dzięki  którym pokażesz pewność siebie po angielsku.

And these phrases are:

• I’ve got to say that – Muszę powiedzieć że
• I’m totally convinced – Jestem całkowicie przekonana
• I’m sure you’ll agree -Z pewnością się zgodzisz ze mną
• I’m fully confident – Jestem w zupełności pewna
• You can’t go wrong – Nie zawiedziesz się, musi się udać

We will practise these phrases repeating out loud after actors from films and series. And at the end we’ll have a short quiz.

1. I’ve got to say that – Muszę powiedzieć że

You may hear people saying this phrase in a few different ways , well naturally. Americans and British will say it differently. But also Americans from different states will also say it differently, especially the „got” word.  If you’d like to practise „I’ve got” in different accents, you can do that in episode #.137

I’ve got to say that – We can use this phrase to praise someone – możemy użyć tej frazy do dania komplementu albo pochwalenia kogoś.

So now we will practise this phrase in 3 examples. Listen and repeat.

5. You can’t go wrong. – Nie zawiedziesz się, Nie może się nie udać

And the last phrase. We use this phrase when we want to show our confidence in the decision. Czyli użyjemy tej frazy żeby pokazać naszą pewność odnośnie jakiejś decyzji, jakiegoś pomysłu.

For example:

Imagine your friend has a birthday and you want to buy her some jewellery. You go to the jewellery shop and ask the shop assistant for a recommendation. She can say:

Gold. You can’t go wrong with gold.

What does it mean? It means you can be sure that gold is a universal metal and women like it. It will be a great idea for a birthday gift. We can say it’s a safe bet – to bezpieczny zakład – it’s a safe bet

Now you will hear 3 last examples. 

Nie wiem, co powiedzieć, proszę pana. – Nie może się nie udać, jeśli powiesz „dziękuję”.

I don’t know what to say, sir. – You can’t go wrong with „thank you.”
